Charles Howard Slate Jr., 69, of Blacksburg passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Giles County, Va. on Dec. 25, 1948 to the late Charles Howard Slate, Sr. and Hallie Testerman. He is also preceded in death by a son, Robbie Slate.
Chuck served in the United States Navy for 12 years. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Slate, daughters, Cherie and Lorie, son, George, sisters, Edith, Donna, Lynda, Patty, brothers, Gene, Michael, David. He will always be loved.
Memorial Service will be conducted today, Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at 11 am in the Fairview Community Church with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
