Ellen Kirby Coale who resided in Blacksburg, VA joined her Heavenly Father Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at the age of 82. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late S. Howard & Ellen Kirby. Ellen was an amazing woman of faith, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Ellen brought a ray of sunshine to everyone she met and knew. Her joy for life was contagious and her laughter was well known. Ellen was one of the most kind and generous people you could ever know.
She was a very accomplished woman with a significant work ethic who served her community with her whole heart. She was a humble spirit who inspired all those around her. She would not want accolades for anything, but only for others to feel loved.
Ellen is survived by husband of 59 years, Charles Coale; daughter, Marjie Lawson and husband, Tommy; sons, Roger Coale and wife, Melissa, James Coale and wife, Meaghan; along with 8 beautiful grandchildren, Thomas, Zach, Jeremiah, Jacob, Rachel, Katie, Carson, and Taylor.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11am today, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at Blacksburg United Methodist Church with Reverend Ralph Rowley officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg. The family received friends on Oct. 30 at McCoy Funeral Home.
