Peggy Peveto Arnold

Peggy Peveto Arnold, of Blacksburg, peacefully passed away Nov. 3 in Blacksburg, VA.  She was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma in 1939.  Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Burl and Faye Peveto.  She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jesse Arnold, her daughter, Christa Arnold in Gainesville, FL, her son, Jesse (Chuck), Jr. in Vero Beach, FL, her grandchildren, Austin Manning, Peyton Manning and Haley Manning all of Gainesville, FL, her sister, Julia Ross in California, her brother, Burl Peveto in Oklahoma and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Peggy was an extremely active person with her family, friends and in volunteer work.  In college she was very active in student government and cheer leading.  One of Peggy’s passions was speech and forensics for young people.  She devoted much of her time teaching public school students in forensics and directing and writing plays for grade school students.  She also taught Sunday School classes for young people.  Because of her love for people, she taught exercise classes at Warm Hearth Village for more than fifteen years, receiving the Volunteer of the Year award.  Peggy also received the President’s award at Virginia Tech for her outstanding work as a Fiscal Technician.  Peggy loved everyone and everyone who knew her loved her.

Among her many enjoyments, she loved to travel, go to the beach, play tennis and to spend time with her loving children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be planned for next spring. In lieu of flowers, Peggy would like for donations to be given in her name to Warm Hearth Village, 1000 Litton Lane, Blacksburg, VA or to the Humane Society of Montgomery County, Christiansburg, VA or your favorite charity.  Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
