Each Saturday the paper features a dog and a cat from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center (480 Cinnabar Road, Christiansburg).

Four-month-old Maurice says hello! This little guy is a quite a survivor — he came to the Center with a pretty bad injury, but he’s strong and pulled through. Now he’s ready to find his purr-fect home! He couldn’t be sweeter, and he absolutely loves getting his head scratched. If you’re looking for a tough but sensitive kitty, Maurice could be the one for you.
Jason, 10, is a handsome terrier with a bright and lively disposition. He loves to explore, but he also wouldn’t mind lounging on the couch with his humans, too. If he had a TV, he would probably watch a lot of standup because it matches his comical personality — he’s a bit of a character. Visit him at the Animal Care and Adoption Center, and you might find your perfect playmate.

Those interested in adopting a pet can call 382-5795 or visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/acac. Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Walk-ins are welcome.
