North Carolina high schooler and tennis standout Camryn McClure has signed a letter of intent to play this coming fall for Radford University.

“We’re very excited to add Camryn to the Highlander family,” said Giuggioli. “She is very athletic and will be a great addition to the team!”

Hailing from Raleigh, N.C., McClure attended Raleigh Charter High School where she led her team to Dual Team 1A State Championships three straight seasons as a sophomore, junior and senior while playing as the No. 1 seed.

Each of those three seasons, she was named Conference Player of the Year and Dual Team 1A State Championship Most Valuable Player. She was an all-conference player all four years of high school, earned a N.C. 1A East Region Individual Singles title as a sophomore and a N.C. 1A State Individual Doubles title as a senior.

After several fantastic performances in UTSA tournaments, McClure was named the 2017 James H. Leighton Junior Tennis Female Player of the Year by the North Carolina Tennis Foundation.

McClure will join an experienced and talented roster when she arrives at Radford next fall. With only one senior set to graduate, the Highlanders will have seven returning players.
