Alvin Eldridge Nolen, 81, of Pearisburg, precious stepdad, father-in-law, granddad, brother and Army National Guard Veteran, joined his Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019.
He was born in Blacksburg, VA on Sept. 30, 1937 to the late Caley and Gracie Sarver Nolen. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Carroll Nolen; sisters, Ethel Nolen and Mary Bishop; brother, Gale Nolen. He is survived by stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jamie Wright, Lisa and Jeff Jones; sisters, Dorothena Doss, Margaret Simmons; brothers, Clarence Nolen, LeeRoy Nolen; grandchildren, Daniel Wright and wife Melia, Jacob Wright; great-grandchildren, Barrett and Lawson Wright; special friends, Gary and Debbie Poff, and Castle Rock Baptist Church family.
Funeral services were conducted on Jan 18, 2019 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Poff officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., S.W. Blacksburg, VA.
