The two-day arts festival H’arts on Main events begin at 1 p.m. on Friday Feb. 15, and by 5:30 p.m., the doors of the vaulted ceiling’d Great Road venue (100 Main Street) swing open and cash bar and hors d’oeuvres welcome guests.

At 6:30, Leap Performing Arts Academy presents selections from their award-winning routines and from their 2018 sell-out performance of the Nutcracker at the Moss Arts Center.

Classic Strings Duo of Kevin and Elizabeth Mathesone, fresh from Carnegie Hall, perform at 7 p.m.  Historian Scott Crawford will present “How was my Aching Bosom Torn: The Art of Romantic Poetry in Thomas Jefferson’s Scrapbooks” from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. closing Friday evening’s events.

Saturday evening events include P. Buckley Moss speaking about her life and art, guitarist Justin Craig, guitarist Harry Lester of Powder Springs, Georgia, and The Loose Strings Band a band of five girls from Galax, VA.

Visit MontgomeryMuseum.org/events for details and tickets.

Daytime art and workshop events are free. Evenings require a ticket.

“While tickets are also available at the door or at the museum, there may be a limited number of tickets available at the door,” the H’arts on Main announcement said. “Everyone is encouraged to purchase their tickets online or in person at the Montgomery Museum, 300 South Pepper Street, Christiansburg, VA.”
