Irby Linwood White, 84, of Blacksburg went to be with Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019. He was born in Pulaski County, Va. on Nov. 24, 1934 to the late Lettie Reed and also preceded in death by his wife Erma White. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tonia and Kevan Danker, of Williamsburg, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Wanda White, of Elliston; four grandchildren, Scott White, Cassey, Shelly Herron; Jahred Danker, and Ethan Danker; and three great-grandchildren, Nate White, Jasmine White, and Austin White; and furry companion, Chance. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, VA 24060 or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 28105.
