John Stephen Waller, 79, residing in Wytheville, Virginia fell asleep in death Thursday, Feb. 28 due to ongoing health complications. Beloved husband, father and dear friend to so many.

Steve so loved his family. His tender affection for his wife, Aurilla, who he was married to for 56 years, was evident to everyone who knew them. He would often ‘whisper’ to each of his four children that they were his favorite as he gave them a big hug and laughed. He so loved his children’s mates, feeling that he really had eight children. It gave him great solace that all of his children and grandchildren are faithfully serving Jehovah. He felt that there was no greater life than a life spent serving our creator.

Steve spent his entire life serving his God, Jehovah. At the age of 13 he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. By the age of 19 he was appointed as an Elder in the congregation and continued to serve for 61 years right up to the time of his death. He loved teaching people about God’s Kingdom and how it will soon bring peace and security to all of mankind and restore the earth to paradisiac conditions.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Stoughton and Emma Waller, and his brother Ronald Waller. He is survived by his wife Aurilla Waller, his sister, Lynda Shaw, and her husband Walter Shaw, his children Danielle Dixon and her husband Edward Dixon, Johanna Siegfried and her husband Dennis Siegfried, Mark Waller and his wife Corinne Waller and Stephanie Smith and her husband Daniel Smith, his grandchildren Matthew Siegfried and his wife Dulce Siegfried, Andrew Siegfried and his wife Sarah Siegfried, Joshua Siegfried, Tres Dixon and Kaison Waller.

A Funeral Discourse will be presented on Saturday, Mar. 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Fort Chiswell High School Auditorium, 1 Pioneer Trail, Max Meadows, VA 24360. All who knew him are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation to support the worldwide religious and humanitarian activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses by going to www.donate.jw.org.

Steve had strong faith in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection, so we won’t say ‘goodbye’, just ‘until we see you again…’
