Evelyn Hutchison Lyons, age 83, of Pulaski went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 3, 2019.She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on Jan. 6, 1936 to the late Robert William and Bessie Linkous Hutchison. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Moore and brothers, Merle Hutchison and Anderson Hutchison. Mrs. Lyons worked at Radford University and owned and operated Lyons Drive-In in Christiansburg.
She was a faithful Pentecostal Church of God-goer and loved to camp with her husband in the Great Smokey Mountains. God sent her as an angel to be her children’s mother. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James (Poppie) Edison Lyons, Sr., daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Jack Moore, Melissa and Richard Stuart, sons and daughters-in-law, Jody and Polly Lyons, Terry Sr. and Martha Lyons, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, sisters, Reba Williams, Nadine Page, Bonnie Shepherd, brothers, Roy Hutchison, Randy Hutchison, Elwood Hutchison, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted today, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Lyons and Rev. Debbie Courtney officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
