You are hereby notified of a SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING to be held as follows:

DATE: Friday – April 5, 2019

TIME: 2:30 p.m.

PLACE: Blacksburg Motor Company Conference Room

400 South Main Street

Blacksburg, VA 24060

The purpose of this meeting is:

A special town council meeting was called by Mayor Leslie Hager-Smith and Town Clerk Donna Boone-Caldwell to receive legal advice and negotiation discussion concerning the Old Blacksburg Middle School property that may indicate movement toward closure of the long-running process of developing the Main Street acreage.

The closed meeting was held Friday, April 5, to discuss “the possible disposition and acquisition of property at the OBMS site in Blacksburg and (ii) a potential development agreement with Midtown Redevelopment Partners, LLC” according to the notice. A closed meeting as permitted by the consultation with legal counsel and contract negotiation exemptions in the Virginia Code.
