April’s Town and Gown conversation is between Virginia Tech’s Senior Vice President for Operations and Administration, Dwayne Pickney and Blacksburg’s Deputy Town Manager, Steve Ross.

Students, faculty, staff, and town residents are invited to attend.

The event will be held at the Ambler Johnston Residence Hall Great Room (700 Washington St.) in Blacksburg tomorrow, Thursday, April 18.

The title, “Working Together: Blacksburg and Virginia Tech Senior Leaders Talk” and a coffee/dessert reception from 5:30-6 p.m. will begin the evening.

Co-chaired by Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs Frank Shushok and Blacksburg Deputy Town Manager Steven Ross, the town-gown team holds six monthly forums each year on issues that generate conversation across campus and throughout Blacksburg.

Student voices are a key part of the meetings, with members of the Virginia Tech Student Life Council taking an active role in the discussions.

For more information, contact Matt Hanratty at mhanratty@blacksburg.gov or 540-443-1611. Parking is available on Washington street or the Cassell Coliseum Lot.
