William Bentley Akers, 86, of Pembroke, died May 16, 2019 at New River Valley Medical Center. Bill (Bentley) was born in Montgomery County on June 7, 1932, to the late Ed and Rose Akers. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Sadie Lois Akers.
He is survived by Bonnie Dolinger Akers, wife of 36 years, sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Debbie, Johnnie and Lilie and Robert Auvil; daughters and sons-in-law: Cindy and Floyd, Amber and Lee; sisters: Hazel Hinkley, Edna Franklin and Lillian Revis; grandchildren: Amanda, Jessie, Kali, Beth, Ashley, April, Harley, Kennedi, Liam, Margaret and Jordan; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were conducted at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 19, 2019 with Rev. Buck Yopp and Rev Darrell Linkous officiating. Visitation was held before the service.
