The Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg will present The Hoppers in concert at the Christiansburg High School at 7 p.m., Friday, July 12 doors open at 5:30. Acclaimed local artist Dale Buckner will open the show.
The multi-award winning family singing group, The Hoppers, have been singing for over 60 years appearing in presidential religious inaugural ceremonies, Carnegie Hall, conventions and churches.
“Their unique blend of harmonies and song choices have created a legacy of musical excellence embraced by leading pastors and event organizers,” the group’ announcement said.
All funds from this event will go to the service account of the Kiwanis Club and will be used to support the needs of youth in the local community. Proceeds from this event and the other Kiwanis fundraisers are used to support local children in need of financial assistance. The groups supports 57 children in the Head Start Backpack program, helps six Christiansburg schools organize clothing and supplies programs, funds scholarships at CHS, helps with special needs Christiansburg Recreation Center and the Aquatic Center requests, and holds annual children’s Christmas parties, and other requests approved by the club.
