The Blacksburg Community Band, under the direction of David McKee, has scheduled three summer concerts.

  • July 4: For the 4th of July, the band provides patriotic music to get the community in the spirit of the day at Blacksburg’s Municipal Park starting at 6:00 pm. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy this fun, festive, and free outdoor concert.
  • July 10: On the patio at Warm Hearth’s Karr Activity Center (2603 Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg, VA) from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. If inclement weather occurs, the concert will be moved down the street to The Village Center.
  • July 13: The Blacksburg Community Band will be providing a variety of musical selections at the Mount Tabor Ruritan Club Fish Fry from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Come out and enjoy some great food and music!

Formed in 1989, the band was created as a way for individuals of all skill levels to continue or re-foster their interest in music.
