Chris Butler (pictured) and Josh Greenburg led the Radford University Fishing Team to a top-10 finish in a recent national qualifying tournament at Lake Erie, Michigan.

A team from Radford University, Joshua Greenburg of Montpelier and Christopher Butler of Radford, finished seventh in a recent college fishing tournament as they hauled in five bass with a total weight of 16 pounds, four ounces.

The YETI FLW College Fishing event on Lake Erie was the third and final regular-season qualifying tournament for Northern Conference anglers. The next event for FLW College Fishing anglers will be the YETI FLW College Fishing tournament on the Arkansas River presented by Bass Pro Shops, Sept. 20 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

YETI FLW College Fishing teams compete in three regular-season qualifying tournaments in one of five conferences: Central, Northern, Southern, Southeastern and Western.

All participants must be registered, full-time students at a college, university or community college and members of a college fishing club that is recognized by their school.

The top 10 teams from each division’s three regular-season tournaments and the top 20 teams from the annual FLW College Fishing Open will advance to the 2020 FLW College Fishing National Championship, scheduled for Feb. 26-28 on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg, Fla. Additional teams will qualify for the national championship if the field size in regular-season events exceeds 100 boats.

Ohio State finished second in the competition, while two teams from Adrian University were third and fourth.
