The eleventh annual Pretty in Pink downtown fundraiser will be held Thursday, October 17, from 10am-8pm in downtown Blacksburg.
A highlight of the effort is the second annual Bradazzle Contest.Local community members and Virginia Tech Fashion Merchandising & Design students were challenged to design a 34C bra based on the theme “Fighting Breast Cancer.” The designs are now on display in local downtown businesses including Kent Jewelers, New River Fiber Co and the Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. Office.
All of the bras will be on display at Kent Square on October 17. The bra with the most votes will win. You can vote by visiting the bras in the businesses through Oct 16 or on Oct 17 at Kent Square. Votes cost $1 each or $5 for 6. All proceeds will go to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.
Participating Downtown Merchants will donate a percentage of Thursday’s proceeds to the fight against breast cancer. A list of the participating businesses is available at www.downtownblacksburg.com. Once again Kent Jewelers and Next Door Bake Shop will be selling “Cupcakes for the Cause” with all proceeds again going to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation. Every cupcake contains a gemstone and one lucky person will find a diamond!!
Join In Balance Yoga for an all-level flow session Thursday from 9 to 10 am. Class will be held @ 250 Main St. on the second-floor balcony near Real Life Dental and the American Red Cross.
Please bring your own mat. All levels are welcome and 100% of the donations will benefit the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Pretty in Pink “Happy Hours” reception will take place in coordination with Downtown Blacksburg, Inc and the Blacksburg Junior Women’s Club Social. This reception is open to everyone and will feature food, beverages and music and fun with DJ Earl Brown. The silent auction will take place during the Happy Hours and will featuref some truly awesome auction items.
