The nation’s largest volunteer tax preparation service is prepared to help individual taxpayers file their 2019 returns – at no cost to the client.

The primary client focus of the AARP Tax-Aide program is low to middle income seniors, but the program is open to everyone. Accuracy and protection of taxpayer identity and data remain a primary focus of the AARP Tax-Aide program.

Several days each week, starting Feb. 1, 2020, AARP Tax-Aide program volunteers will be available to prepare and electronically file U.S. and Virginia returns for individuals with appointments at the Christiansburg Recreation Center, 1600 N. Franklin St., in Christiansburg. .

Appointments may be scheduled by calling 540-382-2349, starting Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020. Walk-ins will be served if space and time are available

Volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS so that they are up to date on the latest tax law changes and additions to the U.S. tax code.

Everyone should bring the following documents: Social Security Cards for each person listed on the return, their previous year tax return, government issued photo ID’s, and all documents related to income or expenses.
