Eastern Montgomery’s 5-7 junior guard Elli Underwood has been named the Pioneer District’s girls basketball Player of the Year. Coach Kelley Sutphin was named the coach of the year.
Eastern Montgomery High School won both the girls district regular season and tournament championships this past month, and Monday the school dominated the all-district team. All five of EM’s starters were named to the squad.
Underwood was joined on the first team by sophomore guard Maddie Bruce.
Haley Howard was named to the second team along with Lilly Underwood and Emma Ryan
