The 2019-2020 high school basketball season is over, and district officials released their all-star teams on Monday. Radford’s Cam Cormany was named the player of the year on both the Three Rivers district and Region C teams. His father and coach, Rick Cormany was named the boys coach of the year in the Three Rivers District.
Cam Cormany was joined on the first-team by teammate Alex Kanipe. Radford’s Jackson McManus was named to the second team. Cormany was also first-team all-region, while Kanipe was named to the second team.
Auburn’s Ethan Millirons was named the Mt. Empire and Region C player of the year. Millirons was joined on the first-team all-region by teammate, Michael Royal. Eastern Montgomery’s Cole Shepherd was named to the second-team all-region.
On the girls’ side, Hannah Huffman was Auburn’s lone first teamer in the Mt. Empire District. Teammate Morgan Mundy was second-team all-district with Amelia Terry and Katelyn Lafon being named honorable mention.
Blacksburg’s Brock Vice and Christiansburg’s M.J. Hunter were named to the River Ridge boys’ first team. Christiansburg’s Tyrique Taylor and Aiden Proudfoot and Blacksburg’s Luke Goforth were named to the second team.
On the girls’ side of the court, Blacksburg’s Skyler Prosser was named to the River Ridge first team with Christiansburg’s Hannah Altizer named to the second team. Mila Stantsaver-Jones and Ellie Gresh from Blacksburg were named honorable mention as was Christiansburg’s Antwannique Bakes.
Hunter was named to the Region 3D second team along with teammate Aiden Proudfoot. Taylor was honorable mention.
Hannah Altizer was the only Christiansburg honoree named to the Region 3D honorable mention squad.
Blacksburg’s Prosser was named to the Region 4D first team. Vice represented Blacksburg on the first-team All-Region 4D. Goforth was listed as honorable mention.
Eastern Montgomery had one player, Cole Shepherd, named to the first-team All-Pioneer District squad. Two players from the school were named to the second team: JT Foster and Adam Bahnken. Darion Moore was named to the Pioneer honorable mention squad.
The girls’ All-Pioneer team was previously announced.
Underwood was named to the Class 1 Region C girls’ first team, while teammate Maddie Bruce and Auburn’s Hannah Huffman were named to the second team.
