Mary Ellen Shigley Moore, 96, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Mary Ellen was born in Bloomington, Ind., on Dec. 15, 1923.
She was the daughter of Everett M. Shigley and Clara Rogers Shigley. She had two sisters, Virginia Jenkin and Betty Jane Kerr. She was married to James McCaughan Moore for 68 years prior to his passing in 2015.
Mary Ellen was a teacher. She started her career in Indiana and then was the home economics teacher at Radford High School from 1964 to 1984. After her retirement she was very involved in furthering education and in community service.
She is survived by her son, Jim Moore and his wife, Kathy, and her daughter, Barbara Moore. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions her celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
