Both Blacksburg and Christiansburg will hold their fireworks displays on July 4 as scheduled.

The Town of Blacksburg fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. from the Old Blacksburg High School property on Patrick Henry Drive. Town officials are encouraging those who can see the fireworks from their residences to do so.

The fireworks can also be viewed from the Food Lion shopping plaza on the corner of Tom’s Creek and Prices Fork roads. In case of rain, the fireworks will not be rescheduled.

Blacksburg’s annual parade and music festivities have been cancelled.

The Town of Christiansburg fireworks show will begin about 9:15 p.m. from a property off Peppers Ferry Road. Again, town officials are encouraging those who are able to view the fireworks from their residences to do so.

The fireworks will be visible from the New River Valley Mall and Walmart parking lots. Residents who travel to these locations to view the shows are encouraged to stay in or near their vehicles.

In case of rain, the town’s rain date is Sunday, July 5.

Christiansburg’s annual downtown festival has been cancelled.
