Christiansburg Mayor Mike Barber dropped by the booth of the Montgomery County Christmas Store at the Thursday, July 30, edition of the Christiansburg Farmers Market. He is pictured with volunteers Therese Walters and Karen Healey. The mayor’s presence illustrated the ongoing support the town gives to the charitable organization with a $5,000 gift included in the 2020-21 budget. The Christmas Store is an all-volunteer, community-wide, non-profit organization that assists low-income families in Montgomery County during the Christmas season by providing a shopping experience characterized by choice and dignity. The Christmas Store has served local families since 1982 with a staff of close to 1,000 local volunteers.
