Two local students have earned awards of excellence from Western Governors University (WGU). The award is given to students who perform at a superior level in their coursework.
Wade Owen of Radford has earned an award of excellence from the university’s College of Business. Allison Long of Riner has earned an award of excellence from the university’s teachers college.
In addition, four local students have received degrees from WGU.
Blacksburg students receiving degrees from WGU were Brittney O’Bryan, Bachelor of Science, nursing; Elle Pendleton, Master of Business Administration, healthcare management; and Marcus Haynie, Bachelor of Science, business management.
Shana Murphy of Christiansburg has received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
