Flu shots will be available for the public on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 4-6 p.m. at the Christiansburg Recreation Center, Court A, and on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Christiansburg Middle School, 1205 Buffalo Dr.
The clinic on Nov. 18 is drive-thru and is sponsored jointly by the Virginia Department of Health and the New River Health District. The flu shots are free as long as supplies last.
Adults and children ages 8 and up may receive the injections. Face coverings are required, and participants will remain in their cars to receive the shots. They should wear loose-fitting clothing around their arms. More information is available by calling 540-585-3300.
Thursday’s clinic is courtesy of Christiansburg Pharmacy. Walk-ins are welcome. The shots are free for those having Medicare Part D. The Medicare card must be presented before receiving the shot. Participants without Medicare Part D must present a valid insurance card prior to receiving a shot. Most insurances will be accepted.
For participants without insurance, the fee is $25 with exact cash or check only accepted.
Shots will be given to adults and children ages 3 and up.
