Auburn High School’s volleyball team wrapped up a 14-0 season this past week, winning the Mt. Empire District with a win over Grayson County in the finals. Auburn took the game 25-6, 25-12, 25-8 to complete an undefeated season.
Allison Martin finished with 11 aces, nine kills, two blocks and 13 digs for Auburn while Anna McGuire added five aces, two kills, 17 assists and six digs, and Madeline Lavergne finished with six kills.
Meanwhile, Eastern Montgomery fell 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 20-25, 13-15 to Narrows in the Pioneer District finals to finish as the runner-up.
Laken Smith had seven blocks and nine kills for Eastern, which finished the season at 10-4. Elli Underwood added 18 kills and 15 digs. Lilly Underwood tallied 34 assists in the loss.
