Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Friday evening arrested three adults in the McCoy area of the county who were subsequently held without bond on various weapon- and drug-related charges.
The deputies were originally dispatched to the area in response to a call about a suspicious vehicle trespassing on private property. They located the vehicle, which was occupied by three adults. Following what was described as “a brief interaction,” the deputies requested the assistance of a narcotics K9 Maxx. Upon being deployed, the drug dog alerted on the vehicle, which prompted a search.
Found within the vehicle during the search was an illegal firearm, approximately one-quarter pound of methamphetamine, heroin, distribution equipment, and cash.
Arrested was Zachary R. Moran, 25, of Elliston, who was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon, and felony conspiracy possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Also arrested was Ashley D. Poff, 33 of Radford, who was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of a firearm while possessing with the intent to distribute schedule I or II narcotics, felony possession of a schedule I or II substance (heroin), felony possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, felony conspiracy possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of controlled paraphernalia.)
Elizabeth N. Hinkley, 28 of Radford, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I or II narcotic (methamphetamine), misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon, felony possession of a schedule I or II substance (Methamphetamine), and felony conspiracy possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
