The Blacksburg High School boys’ cross-country team won one of the largest meets ever held in the state of Virginia this past week. They competed against a field of more than 120 teams at the Oatlands Invitational in Northern Virginia.
Connor Rutherford, who has the fastest 5K time of all Virginia runners, led the Blacksburg varsity boys with a seventh-place finish.
At the same meet, the girls’ cross-country team finished fifth. The boys’ junior varsity team also did well, claiming spots one through seven in the race.
