YMCA at Virginia Tech brings back Santa’s Holiday Village

YMCA at Virginia Tech brings back Santa’s Holiday Village

After a two-year break, the YMCA at Virginia Tech is bringing back Santa’s Holiday Village today, Saturday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Children are invited to come meet Santa. The Y’s holiday elves from the Y Leaders
Club and YMCA Student Program Leaders will be on hand to help with the taking of pictures. They will also lead children into a special “Kids Only” shopping area and will assist children in shopping for surprise presents for their family members.

According to the Y at Virginia Tech, pricing will be nominal so that every child can afford to purchase gifts they want to give. This includes those children with very limited family resources

Founded in 1873, the YMCA at Virginia Tech has as its mission “building community through learning, leadership and service” Through its four main program areas of community, education, international programs, and student programs, the Y serves the community.

The Y at Virginia Tech provides a variety of services for those in need, creates volunteer opportunities open to all, provides leadership development and training opportunities for students and is one of the community’s leading non-profit agencies focusing on community

education. With more than 1,200 volunteers who give more than 20,000 hours to the Y’s diverse programs annually, the Y touches community members from all walks of life while developing new leaders who will continue to make the community a better place.
