By the Board of Supervisors of the County of Montgomery, Virginia that the Board of Supervisors hereby schedules a public hearing for Monday,
February 27, 2023,at 7:15 p.m., or soon thereafter, to receive public comment on a proposed Ordinance Amending Chapter 2 Entitled Administration of the Code of the County Of Montgomery, Virginia by Creating Division 11, Entitled Cigarette Tax Sections 2-190 through 2-203 in order to Establish, Administer and Create a tax at the rate of forty cents ($0.40) for each package containing twenty (20) cigarettes and two cents ($0.02) for each cigarette contained in a package of fewer or more than twenty cigarettes sold or used within the unincorporated area of the County of Montgomery, Virginia. A copy of the full text of the Ordinance is on file in the Office of the County Administrator and is available 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for public inspection or copying.
