On Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, the Christiansburg Police Department received a report of a missing, elderly man. 86-year-old Siegfried Holzer left his residence to go to a local store but never returned.

After realizing he had not checked in, his family activated a GPS locator on his vehicle and observed it to be traveling out of the area. Law enforcement helped track the vehicle to a location in Hardy County, WV. The Hardy County Sheriff’s Office found his vehicle around the 11000 block of State Road 55 in Baker, WV on Friday, Feb. 24 around 8 p.m.. Hardy County initiated a search, but Holzer has not yet been located.

Siegfried Holzer was last seen wearing blue jeans, a ball cap, blue tennis shoes, and an orange, maroon, and white Virginia Tech jacket. He is 5’5” tall, and weighs 110 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone who has seen him or had any contact with him should contact the Christiansburg Police Department at (540) 382-4343.
