The Region C championship game was held at Cassell Coliseum on Saturday, Feb. 25. The East Montgomery Lady Mustangs lost in overtime 52-50 to Fort Chiswell. EMHS now has a record of 22 wins and 6 losses and advances to the state quarterfinals, the furthest a team from Eastern Montgomery has ever advanced in tournament play.
The team is coached by Kelley Sutphin.
Senior Lilly Underwood had 26 points and 13 rebounds. Lilly also scored her 1,000th point during the game.
Senior Maddie Bruce scored 9 points.
