Donna Kessinger Christian, 57, of Christiansburg, was suddenly carried away by the loving arms of Jesus into the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, March 20, 2023.
She was born in Radford on May 31, 1965, to the late Harold Richard Kessinger and Clarice Opal Fain Kessinger. Donna was a loving wife, mother, and “Mimi” to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her family is what made her thrive, smile and enjoy life; she just couldn’t wait to bring them all together to make memories.
Donna was an insurance professional for more than 34 years and was a current agency owner with her husband at Christian Insurance Agency in downtown Blacksburg. She was a longtime volunteer with the American Cancer Society and was currently serving as the Main Event Lead for Montgomery County’s “Relay for Life.” She was a very active member in the Women’s Ministry and sang in the Choir at Christiansburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Zane Fitzgerald Christian; three sons, Christopher Ryan Cox, (wife Jenna Dawn Cox), Zane Chandler Christian, and Brandon Wesley Cox; grandchildren, Emma Grace Christian, Kaylynn Marie Cox, Clinton Wayne Meadows, Zane Gray Christian, and Isabella Elizabeth Christian; uncle Charlie Whitaker and other adopted family members include John Jamar Buckner; Wendell and Amy Smith; Debbie Whitaker and Jimmie MacConnell; and “many” other special friends that are like family. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 31, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Belmont Christian Church with a visitation from noon – 2 p.m. before the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Montgomery County “Relay for Life” in C/O: Pat Worrell at 1108 Horseshoe Lane; Blacksburg VA 24060.
