A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 7 pm at Christiansburg Town Hall, 100 East
Main Street, Christiansburg, Virginia in Council Chambers for the purpose of discussing the proposed
water, sewer, and garbage/sewer fee increases for customers outside of the corporate limits. Effective Date: July 1, 2024 Authority: Code of Virginia §15.2-2119
Water rates outside of corporate limits will increase from 150% to 200% of the inside corporate limits
rates. Water rates: First 0 to 1,000 gallons from $13.50 to $20; Additional 1,000 gallons from $16.50 to $24.00; Over 50,000 gallons from $12.38 to $18.00.
Sewer rates outside of corporate limits will increase from 150% to 200% of the inside corporate limits
rates. Sewer rates: First 1,000 gallons from $15 to $20; Additional 1,000 gallons from $15.38 to $20.50. Garbage/Solid Waste service rates outside of corporate limits will increase from 150% to 200% of inside
corporate limits rates.
This proposal may be examined during regular business hours at the office of the Town Manager. 100 E. Main Street, Christiansburg, VA between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. All interested citizens will have the opportunity to give written or oral comments.
