Glenda Kay Reeves-Tibbs, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Belspring on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
Her family is joyful that she was able to spend her 69th birthday in Heaven. She was a loving mother, wife and sister and was a member of Fairlawn Church of God. She was a New River Community College graduate and completed cardiovascular training through Florida State University. She was the cardiology manager with Radford Community Hospital and Carilion New River Valley Medical Center working closely with Dr. Choubey, Dr. Rivero, and Dr. Wyne in the catherization lab for many years. Glenda was a warm and caring woman who devoted her time to always putting others first, whether it was at work or her personal life. She was an avid reader, loved to watch her daughter Nikki play various sports, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, particularly at the beach. She loved animals especially her dogs, Inky and Winky, as well as her daughter’s dog Ruger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie T. Reeves; mother, Ethelene Harriman Warf; brothers, Kenny H. Sharp and twin Ronald E. Reeves; and sister, Bonnie G. Proffitt.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Lee Tibbs; daughter, Nikki Tibbs; brother, Robert D. Sharp (Patsy) of Max Meadows; sisters, Carol White (Tom) of Ocala, Fla., Doris Chandler of Radford, Tara Porter (Alvin) of Galax, Opal Talbert (Sam) of Pulaski, Rita Reeves (Helmuth) of Hillsville, Elizabeth Funk (Randy) of Hillsville, and Julie McKenny (Tommy) of Hillsville; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Intrepid Hospice nurses, Dr. Judy and Dr. Rupe, and especially her sister, Opal who provided extraordinary care for 12 years.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Fairlawn Church of God. Services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Marcus Harrison officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
