PLANNING COMMISSION
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2204 & 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, the Montgomery County Planning Commission hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on July 12, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Virginia, in order to hear citizen comments regarding the Planning Commission’s intention to act on the following Ordinances:
A request by James K Tannahill (Agent: Peed and Bortz, LLC) for a special use permit to allow a 115,000 Cubic Yards of rubble landfill for the disposal of inert debris, on approximately 4.5 acres of a 20 acre parcel. The proposed use is identified as Rubble, landfill under the Zoning Ordinance which is permitted in A-1 Agricultural District only by a special use permit. The property is located 0.3 miles southeast of Rosemary Road (Rte 676) approximately 0.2 miles from the end of state maintenance. The property is identified as Tax Map 108-A 45C (Parcel ID: 110882) in the Shawsville Magisterial District. The property currently lies in an area designated as Rural in the 2025 Montgomery County Comprehensive Plan.
