The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley hosts a unique exhibit featuring the work of talented local artists.

A troupe of artists from throughout the New River Valley will present three dozen exotic works recreated from found art and objects, at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley.

The show runs from Oct. 13 through Nov. 18 at the center, located at 21 W. Main Street in downtown Pulaski. There is a reception with the artists that is open to the public on Friday, Oct. 20 from 5-7 p.m.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this creative perspective,” said Nikki Pynn, gallery committee chair. “Not all art is intended to last forever, but these artists have found a way to give new life by creating new art from art they’ve found.”

The exhibit is organized by local artist, Diane Relf.

“People are excited to be showing off their unusual work,” Relf said. The artists use different strategies to create their new works of art, with some being a recognizable modification to others being an inspired transformation.

Each piece will be displayed with a before image and artist explanation. The show will also include two pieces that visitors will be invited to alter as a collaborative art project throughout the show, perhaps inspiring new art to be created inspired by the show.

The gallery is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The show closes Nov. 18. There is no charge to attend the show. For more information about the exhibit or other programs at the Center, visit the Center’s website at FACNRV.org, email at info@FACNRV.org, or call 540-980-7363.
