Blacksburg Books is pairing up with the fine dining and cocktails restaurant called Twisted Liquid Blacksburg for a roaring-20s event individuals do not want to miss.

Mindy Quigley is the author of the “deep dish mysteries,” a popular book series set in a pizzeria where murder, mayhem, and mozzarella are sure to be found. A dash of humor flavors Quigley’s books as well.

According to the author’s website at www.mindyquigley.com, Quigley said, “sometimes murder is a laughing matter.”

Her most recent novel, titled “Public Anchovy #1,” will be part of her book discussion and available for purchase at the Prose and Prohibition event.

Manager of Blacksburg Books Ellen Woodall says that Quigley’s books are very popular as part of the “cozy mystery” genre that readers find so attractive and fun to read.

Quigley is one of two authors that will be appearing at the Prose and Prohibition event at Twisted Liquid in downtown Blacksburg on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m.

Mindy Quigley’s bestselling mystery novel is set in a pizzeria and will be on hand for purchase at the event through Blacksburg Books.

Katharine Schellman, also a mystery writer, will be present at the event to talk about her recent book “Last Call at the Nightingale.” The novel guides readers back in time to a speakeasy vibe of the Jazz Age, while weaving a dark tale of mystery, music, and of course, murder.

More information about Schellman’s books can be found at her website, www.katharineschellman.com.

Twisted Liquid will provide a prohibition-era setting with drink specials including a signature cocktail, incredible fine dining options unique to their establishment, and a raffle. Twisted Liquid is located at 301 South Main Street, Suite 103, Blacksburg, just down the street from Blacksburg Books.
