BLACKSBURG – Andy Jones, Administrator, and the staff at Kroontje Health Care Center (KHCC) are celebrating their most recent achievement – receiving a Five-Star rating following their deficiency-free survey.

The Kroontje Center is the only long-term healthcare provider in the New River Valley rated at Five Stars by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The center is home to residents in levels that include assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing care and is part of Warm Hearth Village, a nonprofit senior living community offering a full-continuum of living options in Blacksburg that is celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2024.

“We are very fortunate to have a stable, dedicated team of caregivers who are focused on delivering the highest quality of care and services to our residents,” said Jones. “I couldn’t be more proud of this team and we strive to maintain this standard every day.”

The overall rating is based upon CMS measures that include not only survey compliance but staffing and quality of care as well.

“This is a true testament to the commitment of our dedicated staff and the care provided to those we serve. It is an honor to have such a strong team remaining steadfast to our mission,” said President and CEO William Lester said. “We are blessed at Warm Hearth to have a committed team willing to push through all the challenges they face while ensuring the residents come first.”
