Webb named GLES principal

BLACKSBURG – The Montgomery County School Board has approved Carrie Webb as the next principal at Gilbert Linkous Elementary School.

Webb brings more than 30 years of experience in elementary education to Montgomery County Public Schools, including eight years as an elementary school principal.

“We’re excited to have Ms. Webb join the Gilbert Linkous community,” MCPS Superintendent Bernard F. Bragen, Jr. said. “She has a wealth of experience and we know she will be a great leader for the Linkous Lizards.”

Webb has spent time in Manassas City Schools and Prince William County Schools with roles including elementary school teacher, assistant principal and principal.

“I can’t wait to join the team at GLES and I look forward to being a member of the Blacksburg community,” Webb said. “I’m excited to meet all the students, staff, families and community members that help make GLES such a great place to learn and work.”

Webb’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater College and a Master’s Degree from George Mason University.

Webb will begin leading GLES on July 1, 2024 and will replace Michelle Flynn.
