Light MED player of year

Auburn High School dominated almost every Mt. Empire District Spring all-star teams announced on Wednesday. 

Katie Light was player of the year for girls’ soccer, while Brody Hensel was the player of the year for baseball.

In addition, Adam Ritchie was the MED’s girls’ soccer coach of the year, while Eric Altizer took the similar honor for baseball.

Light was joined on the first-team All MED girls’ soccer list by teammates Grace Harris, Kenleigh Smith, Logan Mundy and Jillian Tucker. Second team honors were given to Stacy Lewis, Kristen Pack, Beverly Warner, Rowan Price, Allison Funk and goalkeeper Kennedy Marshall.

Hensel was joined on the first-team all-MED baseball by pitcher Josh Givens, first baseman Zac McGlothin, outfielder Jared Lavergne and DH Brady Hale. Graham Alley and Mitchell Hale were named to the second team.

Four players from Auburn were named to the first-team boys’ soccer squad. The list included Jared Bradley, Nick Millirons, Cole Jones and Jude Miear. 

Seven players from Auburn were named to the All-MED softball squad. First teamers included pitcher McKenzie Booth, second base Kayle Ramrattan, outfielder Ariel Mullins and Hope Wilson. 

The second team list included pitcher Faith Wilson, outfielder Johnnie Gaynor and Leah Wimmer.
