Gov. Glenn Youngkin has announced the appointment of four members and the reappointment of one member to the Radford University Board of Visitors to serve four-year terms, beginning July 1.

New appointments include Dale Ardizzone ’85, M.S. ’86, of Charlotte, North Carolina; Callie M. Dalton ’82 of Roanoke, Virginia; William C. “Jack” Davis of Blacksburg, Virginia; and Jonathan Sweet ’00 of Fairlawn, Virginia. Reappointed was Betsy D. Beamer of Henrico, Virginia.

Ardizzone is chief operating officer for INSP, LLC and Imagicomm Communications, a cable network and multimedia entertainment company. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Radford University and a Juris Doctor from Widener University. Ardizzone serves as a member of the Radford University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Dalton is a realtor and team leader at Callie Dalton & Associates, Long & Foster. She received her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Radford University and is a former member of the Athletic Foundation Board of Directors. Dalton previously served on the Radford University Board of Visitors from 2013 to 2017.

Davis is a retired Virginia Tech history professor and well-known historian. Davis serves as a steering committee member of TOGETHER – The Campaign for Radford University. In 2018, Radford University announced the naming of the Davis College of Business and Economics as a result of the generosity of Davis and his wife, Sandra.

Sweet has served as Pulaski County administrator since 2017 and has two decades of local government experience. He received his bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations from Radford University. Sweet currently serves on the Radford University Athletic Foundation Board of Directors.

Beamer was appointed for a full term after fulfilling a one-year unexpired term. She is director of planning and organization at McGuireWoods Consulting. She served as Virginia’s secretary of the commonwealth from 1994 to 1998 and previously served on the Radford University Board of Visitors from 1999 to 2003.

“The thoughtful work of the administration in selecting our appointees is much appreciated,” said President Bret Danilowicz. “Our newest members bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and commitment to our university. I look forward to the collective work of our Board of Visitors and our future accomplishments.”

The new Board of Visitors members were appointed to fill the expiring terms of Rector Debra K. McMahon of Charlottesville, Virginia; former Rector Robert A. Archer of Salem, Virginia; Jay A. Brown of Glen Allen, Virginia; and Georgia Anne Snyder-Falkinham of Blacksburg, Virginia.

“Radford University, especially our students, have benefited from the strong leadership and tireless efforts provided by these board members,” said President Bret Danilowicz. “Their dedication to the university and the positive impact of their service will be felt for years to come.”
