BLACKSBURG TOWN COUNCIL will hold public hearings on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers of the Blacksburg Municipal Building, 300 South Main Street, Blacksburg, regarding the following items:
Ordinance 2058: An Ordinance to Amend the FY 2024/2025 Operating Budget to Accept and Appropriate $232,335 of Community Conservation Program Grant Funds from the Virginia Environmental Endowment.
Ordinance 2058 will accept and appropriate $232,335 of the Community Conservation Program funds from the Virginia Environmental Endowment to the General Capital Improvement Fund. The Town will spend the funds on a major ecological restoration project in Heritage Park.
Ordinance 2059: An Ordinance to Amend the FY 2024/2025 Operating Budget to Accept and Appropriate $54,000 of Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Grant Funds.
The proposed ordinance amends the FY2024/2025 Operating Budget by appropriating $54,000 of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Equipment Grant funding to the Police Grant Expenditure line item in the General Fund. These funds will purchase various law enforcement technology items.
Resolution 8-A-24: A Resolution Setting the Regular Meeting Dates for Blacksburg Town
Council.
The proposed resolution sets the dates for the Blacksburg Town Council regular meetings to be the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers, Municipal Building, 300 South Main Street, Blacksburg, Virginia. The regular Town Council meeting scheduled for December 24, 2024 is cancelled. Additionally, the dates for the Blacksburg Town Council regular work sessions will be the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 11:00 a.m. in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building, 400 South Main Street, Blacksburg, Virginia.
All persons affected by or interested in the proposed items above may appear and present their views. After each public hearing, Town Council will consider action on the item.
