CHRISTIANSBURG- Wonder Universe held a back-to-school resource fair on July 27, 2024 for elementary aged students.

Wonder Universe is a children’s museum located in the Uptown Christiansburg Mall. They are a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and inspire families through inclusive play. They hosted a Resource Fair for elementary aged children last weekend filled with activities for the little ones as well as resources for parents and guardians. They co-hosted the event with First Steps, an organization through the New River Valley Community Foundation.

They had tables of resources for parents and guardians that hosted local organizations who focus on the education and health of elementary aged students, like the Imagination Library who gives free books to children each month and Montgomery County Public Schools who were ready to answer questions about enrollment and anything else they can offer to help parents.

The little ones enjoyed playing in the fire engine inside the museum as well as playing with the many toys and obstacles that were there for them. There were books, information and so much more for both parent and child. This event also offered a space for parents and children to meet each other before the upcoming school year and gain familiarity with one another. While the parents walked through the tables and talked with the resources there, the children were encouraged to play in an environment that was safe and had so many fun things to do like face painting. The event was fun and educational for everyone who attended.
