Blacksburg paving work to continue Monday, Aug. 12

Due to inclement weather, paving work on North Main Street in Blacksburg will be delayed. Based on the projected weather impacts, paving and millwork is now scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 12.

Annual paving will be conducted on North Main Street between the intersections of Mount Tabor Road and Giles Road. Paving work will continue on day shift and be conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Alternating lane closures with flagger and pilot car will be employed to maintain traffic. Work will be coordinated to limit impacts and maintain access to adjacent residents and businesses. Short duration closures of entrances should be expected to complete milling and resurfacing operations. Work is expected to take two-three days, weather permitting.  

Annual paving will also continue Monday, Aug. 12 on Hubbard Street/Airport Road between the intersections of South Main and Dehart Street. In addition, paving work will include much of King Street between the intersections of South Main and Hubbard Street.
