PRO Housing Grant Application Available for Public Comment Period and Hearing

Notice is given that the DRAFT New River Valley HOME Consortium Pathways to Removing

Obstacles (PRO) Housing Grant Application is available for a 15-day public comment period.

PRO Housing Purpose:

PRO Housing is a competitive grant administered by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to identify and remove barriers to affordable housing production and

preservation. If awarded, the funds will provide additional resources for NRV HOME

Consortium’s work to

  1. Advance public policy to support affordable housing developments

and

  1. Develop a permanent supportive housing program to serve the region’s most

disadvantaged residents.

 

Public Hearing and Comment Period: An in person public hearing for questions and comments will be held Tuesday, October 8 at 4 pm, 303 Wilson Avenue, Blacksburg. A virtual public comment hearing is available October 8 from 3-4 pm. Public comment will be accepted

for 15 days, starting September 28, ending October 12, 2024.

How to comment: View the draft of the application at Blacksburg.gov/PROgrant and send your

comments to Jill Maher, HOME Program Coordinator, Housing and Community Connections

Office, via email jmmaher@blacksburg.gov or phone (540) 443-1615.

Copies of the draft application, link for virtual hearing, accommodations for people with

disabilities and non-English speaking residents are available upon request. Please call
