Charles Richard Cumbee went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at the age of 83. Richard was born on July 5, 1941, to the late Charlie May Cumbee and Lida Bell Cumbee.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Davis (John); son, Richie Cumbee (Melinda); two granddaughters, Courtney Wooddell (Trenton) and Kelley Davis; one great grandson, Boone Wooddell. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents as well as sisters Maybell, Marie, Beulah and
brothers, Calvin, Alfred, Roy, Thomas and David.
Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman who had many friends. Special friends include Eddie Akers, Steve Walters, Wes Burton, Bob Justice, Coletta Mabry and Conrad Dalton. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church and loved his church family.
A funeral service was conducted Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Neil officiating. Interment followed in the Westview cemetery. The family received friends before the service.
