ELLISTON – According to information released by Montgomery County, a fire was reported at the Elliston Fire Department (EFD), located at 5001 Enterprise Dr. at approximately 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.
“The fire was extinguished at approximately 2:50 a.m.,” the county statement reads. “Two Montgomery County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department employees were working an overnight shift at the EFD. One of the individuals on the scene [was] treated for smoke inhalation. At this time, there is no estimate on the amount of the damage caused by the fire. An investigation by the Virginia State Police is being conducted.”
