With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Robert “Bob” Lee Fisher, beloved husband, daddy and poppy.

Bob was born March 29, 1940, to Roy and Edrie Fisher in Christiansburg. In high school, he met his sweetheart, Bonnie Ann Gearheart, who was his best friend and wife for 64 years.

Graduated in 1963 from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Bob was a proud Hokie. His work and passion took him around the world, solving design problems and accumulating patents.

Bob loved spending time with his family and pets, camping, grilling, and hanging out by the pool. He was a member of Christiansburg Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Kagen Fisher, and great-granddaughter, Kendall Fisher. He will be carried forever in our hearts by his wife, Bonnie; daughters; Michelle Fisher, Tamara Sutphin, Cindy Foley (Rocky) and Megan Anderson (Jeff); grandchildren, Ryan Fisher, India Smith, Rachel and Emily Sutphin, Nathaniel and Grace Fisherpoff, Olivia Anderson, and Kayleigh Foley; and great-grandchildren, Kinley and K.J. Fisher, and Teagan Tawney.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rachel Sutphin and Rev. Emily Sutphin officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family received friends prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.

Flowers may be sent to McCoy Funeral Home or memorial donations may be made to the Montgomery County Friends of Animal Care and Control (MCFACC), P.O. Box 133, Christiansburg, VA 24068.
