The Montgomery Museum of Art & History is pleased to announce a new arts and craft paper quilling workshop, led by artist Sue Hossack.

Come to this workshop to learn how to put a modern spin on this traditional craft.

Paper quilling has been practiced around the world as a decorative craft for centuries, with simple curled paper and glue creating intricate and beautiful designs. Though the name of this practice comes from the historical use of feather quills to aid the coiling of paper, this class will keep you firmly in the modern period. Use color and shape to form artistic creations from spirals of paper. Whether you create a work inspired by nature or abstract in design, quilling is a creative medium sure to inspire a masterpiece. No prior experience with quilling is necessary; this workshop is accessible to all skill levels.

Painter and quilling artist Sue Hossack will be teaching and demonstrating quilling techniques in this workshop, showing how to use the quilling tools to effectively create perfect spirals of paper.

The quilling workshop will take place Saturday, Mar. 8, 2025, 1- 4 p.m. All art supplies, including paper, glue, board, and quilling tools, are included with registration. After the workshop, you get to keep the quilling tools to take home and make more art. $15 registration is required to participate in this craft workshop. Limited space is available. To learn more about the workshop and register for your seat, visit montgomerymuseum.org/events-page/old-technique-new-art-quilling-workshop.
